Jesus Fernandez, Board Member

Mr. Fernandez has over 15 years of experience in mining investments and commodities financing. He established the Trafigura Group’s mining investment arm in 2005, and he currently heads the mining investment team at Galena. Mr. Fernandez is a board member of a number of companies including Trafigura Group’s mining division, Cadillac Ventures and Mawson West. Prior to joining the Trafigura Group, he worked in the project finance team at International Power plc in London. Mr. Fernandez has a Master of Science degree (Finance and Investment) from the University of Exeter and a Licenciatura (Economics degree) from the Universidad de Cantabria, Spain.

Carlos Pons, Board Member

Mr. Pons has over ten years of experience in M&A, investments and financing in mining and natural resources. He started his career at Goldman Sachs and worked in its London and Moscow offices where he was involved in numerous merger, acquisition and capital markets transactions. Most recently, Mr. Pons worked for Ural Invest as Vice President for investments and executed mining and infrastructure investments in Russia and Africa. Mr. Pons joined Galena in 2013 from Glencore’s oil department, where his main focus was M&A. He has a B.A. in Business Administration from ICADE Madrid, Spain.

Carson Pollastro, Board Member

Mr. Pollastro joined Wolverine Fuels, LLC in October 2019 from Utah American Energy, Inc. where he served as President. Mr. Pollastro previously held various senior roles within the Foresight Energy and Murray Energy organizations, including as General Manager of the Mach Mine, General Manager of the New Future and New Era Mines, and Vice President of The American Coal Company. Mr. Pollastro holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah and a M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Marc Maglione, Board Member

Mr. Maglione joined Wolverine Fuels, LLC in September 2018 from Rio Tinto where he most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Richards Bay Minerals in South Africa.  Mr. Maglione brings international operating and commercial leadership experience in addition to financial discipline demonstrated across diverse mining operations and projects, including coal with Rio Tinto and smaller public companies in the US and abroad.  Mr. Maglione holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Finance from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, as well as professional qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and the Governance Institute of Australia.
