Bowie #2 Mine is a longwall mining complex in Paonia, CO approximately 74 miles east of Grand Junction, CO. Bowie #2 Mine began production in 1998 and from 2000 through 2007, it ranked it #1 or #2 nationwide for efficient longwall production.
Bowie #2 Mine, currently idle, has the capacity for longwall and continuous miner reserves in which it could produce high-BTU, low-sulfur, compliance thermal coal.
